Raging wildfires force thousands of people out of their homes

Hundreds of unrelenting wildfires are burning ferociously and showing no signs of letting up across Western Canada. Conditions are made worse by the heavy winds, which are only further intensifying already raging fires. 

The aggressive strength of these wildfires are unlike anything Canada has experienced before, destroying and burning homes in their wake, and devastating even seasoned firefighters

Evacuations have now doubled, as tens of thousands of people in BC and the Northwest Territories are forced to leave their homes and cities. Many are arriving at shelters without any belongings, pillows or blankets, and are in dire need of basic necessities. 

Islamic Relief is on the ground in BC and Alberta, working with local partners to provide urgent food, bedding and basic necessities to evacuees.
